Relaxation Yoga to survive the silly season
Do you need relaxation yoga?
Have you been running from work, to Christmas parties, to Christmas shopping and haven’t made time for exercise or yoga in the last week?
I hear you.
This time of year is notoriously busy and we often ‘let ourselves off the hook’ with our regular healthy routines. Whilst I completely agree that this is the time to relax ourselves and enjoy the extra time with family; I find this is the time of year I often need my yoga the most, especially to wind down after a huge day and night that usually involves a little too much food and Christmas cheer!
These yoga poses are the perfect bedtime routine to wind down, or even mid-afternoon on Christmas day before you take on part two of the day.
Eaten too much food? Try Upward Facing Dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana) to stretch out your belly.
Tired legs from chasing kids around with their new bikes/ scooters. Legs up the wall (Viparita Karani) is for you.
Sore back from lugging presents around the shops? Stretch out like a cat (Marjaryasana).
Drank too much Christmas punch and need to pass out; just fall into reclined butterfly (Supta Baddha Konasana). I’m totally kidding, just checking you’re still reading. (maybe)
Happy Silly Season!
I’ve been missing Yoga and really missing it. have a lovely Christmas – Namaste.
Thanks for the yoga tips- although I don’t have the patience for it. I did however over indulge at my husband’s work christmas party last week, and did the reclined butterfly thing! Merry Christmas to your family Bettina!
Dear friends, There is Brahmakumaris meditation…that relaxes the mind…detach from the daily pressures of life…get refreshed, inspired and energized.
Regular practice of Yoga can help us to keep ourselves stable and calm and make us more interested in our work.
