Real Good Food – Twix Bar Slice
I haven’t posted a recipe in a looong time. Mostly because I don’t know what to label them. This one could be referred to as ‘sugar-free’, ‘gluten-free’, ‘dairy-free’. The ‘healthy’ twix bar slice if you like. But really, anything you make yourself is going be healthier than a real twix with its suspicious list of ingredients. And ‘healthy’ seems to be such a subjective term these days.
I decided on ‘Real Good Food’. It’s made with real food and it tastes bloody good. The end.
Biscuit Base
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/2 cup honey

Process the oats into a fine flour.
Transfer to a bowl and mix in all other ingredients.
Press into a slice pan lined with baking paper.
Prick with a fork and bake until golden.
Let cool completely before moving on to other layers.
Caramel
5 tbs Mayvers Super Spread
1/2 cup honey
2 tbs coconut oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
Add all to saucepan and melt.
Simmer for a minute then pour over base.
Place in freezer for 15 mins to set.
Chocolate
1/2 cup cocoa or cacao

Melt all ingredients in saucepan and pour over caramel.

All recipes are small boy approved. He thinks he is getting the best treat ever. I’m happy it’s good food. Learning to not eat all of it in one day is a lesson for all of us!
