Any questions you have about week 1’s content please ask in this thread.
No questions but wanted to say that this absolutely resonates with how I ‘endeavour’ to live my life and if anything, this has given me a push to hold myself more accountable; particularly when it comes to slowing down and resting during menstruation. I don’t think I am alone in saying that I struggle with this, particularly as my work in nursing and health compliance is very masculine in that we ‘do, do, do’ and being a Woman I ‘give, give, give.’
I will be focusing more on the slow now and giving myself time to rest and reset. This module has reinforced my excitement in doing this course, as it completely aligns with how I feel about the menstrual cycle in general and how powerful it is for a myriad of reasons. It has taken me years to come to the realisation and the knowledge that menstruation in itself is not the ‘end’ but also the beginning of the cycle and this has been absolutely intrinsic in my healing through years of fertility issues.
Bring on Module 2! Thanks so much Bettina…..loving this already (of course!)
Namaste xx
Hi Bettina,
You are right we girls are not building a proper relations with our cycle. I remember when I got my first period.I was only 11 and I was not ready at all even my mom talked about it to me.
Since that first time I just hated It and I Have never valued it as something sacred until my thirties I think. The Older I am more I grateful to have my period as a sign of a good health. I definitely tried to allow my self to be lazy, doing gentle yoga and have a rest during my first days and then waiting for that positive creative energy during ovulation.
I found the text of 1st module very helpful and practical mostly part dedicated to the endocrine system! Great explanation.
Thank you! Can’t wait for module 2;)

Hi Bettina,
I might have a question related to the belly breathing. I m taking online classes with one fertility yoga teacher in Paris (where I m living) and we do a lot of belly breathing. What is your recommendation as conditions of every student might be different (PCOK, endometriosis, etc.) I saw it also in your 1 hrs class you shared lately. would you recommend it for every phase or only pre-ovulation and ovulation? Thank you for your answer. Martina
Kaitlin – SO good to hear this is resonating with you so much. x
Martina, I think deep slow belling breathing is appropriate for all stages as it helps to slow the nervous system down. I guess I would just emphasise that it’s a full breath not a straining breath. It should feel easeful.
I’ve been catching up on everything away on holiday. Just loving reading through everything. I think the biggest shift in the way we think/talk about our cycle is menstruation being the beginning. I remember when I was trying to conceive, getting my period was always such a final sign that yet again i hadn’t been successful, a disappointing end. But to be able to flip that as a hopeful beginning is beautiful way to look at it. (after the initial disappointment and sadness).
Really enjoying discovering the type of movement and energy levels suitable for our cycle.
I have a question – is the manual for the course the different text files we’re reading or is there a separate manual we’ll receive showing poses and text together?
Thank you!
Yes it is currently individual manuals for each module. I plan to eventually put it altogether in one download for you but I’m not there yet. Glad you’re enjoying the course. x
Great. Thank you!
Just practised the circle of joy. Love this so much. Do you teach this in your pregnancy classes?
Yes! Circle of joy is also a lovely prenatal practise. 🙂
