yes 8-10 mins is a long time. I would have some deep breathing during the start and end of each pose but i really want the person to be able to relax and be still within the pose. But I can see how that could be difficult for some people. I also have music playing softly during a class. I also have a guided meditation at the end but it could be broken down and said within each pose. You have definitely given me so things to think about.
And this can be a bit unconventional is usually when I am creating a yoga class I will use oracle cards to set my intention and I will read the card during part way through the class or at the end.
